Confessions of a Knit-aholic

I love crafting. It all began with Carol Duvall in the early 90's. During summer break I couldn't wait to see what fun ideas she would bring to my living room. I would anxiously wait for my mom to come home after work so I could show her the "new" trash can I made out of card board and wallpaper or the cork board I decorated with fabric and ribbon.

As I became an adult I crafted less and less. I mostly made curtains or pillows for my house. You know, practical things that were much cheaper to make than buy. But still, I yearned for an outlet to release the creativeness I expressed in my youthful handicrafts.

I took a gamble one evening. I bought a "teach yourself to knit" kit on clearance at a local superstore. It was a set of mittens and hat. It didn't take long for me to realize I had found the hobby I'd been missing.

I love to knit.
It's been almost a year since I started that ugly first hat. It was so ugly that I never got around to making the mittens because there was no chance of wearing it as a set. Sure, I still consider myself a beginner knitter but I am having the best time learning new tips and techniques of knitting. So come along with me as I indulge in my hobby and share what I learn.
